Say It Ain't So...

Anyone who has been around long enough has seen the dramatic progression of complexity and skill required to repair newer vehicles. One of my first cars was a 1966 Mustang, with an engine, radiator, battery, starter and alternator (and lots of open space) under the hood. Many of the later vehicles have actual shields under the hood to keep people from messing with the tremendously technologically advanced systems. You almost need to be a computer engineer AND an aerospace engineer to know what is going on under there. Now, automakers are actually bringing in their teams of Lawyers to begin to ban people from working on their cars through copyright laws. Read this article from Autoblog and see what you think... are car mechanics soon to go the way of draftsmen film processors?

Is Your Car Broken Down?

Be honest, when your car breaks down the next time it may not be worth fixing. One option many people are discovering is the wholesale auto parts DIY option at Autopartstomorrow.com . If you could purchase the exact same parts that your GM or Ford dealership uses, but at half the cost, it may be worth keeping the old vehicle on the street. If not... here is an enjoyable video to bolster your imagination.

Everybody Loves a Good Chicken Pun

Somewhere, behind a dirty, cluttered shop counter an old plastic rotary phone rings...

Mechanic: Rooster's Auto Repair

Caller: I dropped my car off yesterday. Have you had a chance to look at it yet?

Mechanic: I think they're chicken it out right now...

Hellcat 6.2L Supercharged Dodge Challenger

When you hear the term "Arms Race" you generally think of negative implications. When it comes to the arms race between the Big Three US Automakers sports cars, it is anything but negative. This article from Automotive News highlights the soon to market over the top Challenger as a "Challenger" to the top Mustangs and Camaros currently offered by rival brands. As far as I am concerned, bring it on. Not that anyone could really utilize the talents brought forward by the American Super Pony Cars... it would still be fun to try.

... and remember, Autopartstomorrow.com sells Mopar OE parts for your Dodge, RAM and Chrysler vehicles.

Will This Walker Muffler Fit My Car?

At Autopartstomorrow.com we have a wide selection of Walker mufflers and pipes for sale. They are mainly sold to local muffler shops and garages who know how to install them. I can't tell you how may times we get calls from customers who are disappointed that what they bought will not just bolt in to their system. We do have some pipes and mufflers that will fit, but many will need to be cut out and welded in. It is just part of selling auto parts to the public. Let's make this post part of public awareness. Please CALL us before you order that Catalytic converter that is going to save you hundreds. We should be able to steer you in the right direction.

P.S. If you can weld like this you may want to apply at the local Nuclear Plant...

The Ultimate Zombipocalypse Vehicle?

When society finally drops into the inevitable total melt-down phase you are going to need an escape vehicle AND a place to live. Why not have one all purpose vehicle that will do both? There has been quite a bit of planning and design behind this vehicle, and I am sure it is not complete even now. It is however very important to have the project usable on the day everything goes down… because you will have a hard time ordering replacement parts on eBay thereafter.

As over the top as this design seems to be, I would bet that he would have people lining up to order “One just like that one” for $5 million or so if he chose to reproduce his dream. For now, this is the only one.

The Joy of Winter Driving...

Being from Georgia, I really do not have a lot of "driving through the snow" stories. I remember the huge winter storm we had in 1982, where it took me 4 hours, 1 small fender bender and 2 vehicles to get home from work (about 15 miles total). I do feel I eventually developed the skills though, as I participated in an all day record breaking day in the snow, delivering Dominoes pizzas to scared and shut-in suburbanites one year. I got to the point where each trip back to the store I would park using the 270 degree slide into the curb method. My favorite snow driving technique is the 180 degree turn using the gas pedal as a brake. I learned that with a very early computer game called Space Lander. Snow can be fun, but it can also be a nightmare. Read this guys story in Hemmings to share some laughs at his expense...

2014 Corvette C7.R

Please tell me I was not the only one who immediately thought of Racer X and the Mach 9 when they revealed the 2014 Corvette C7.R yesterday in Detroit. Have I totally given away my age and placed myself amongst a forgotten generation? - Autopartstomorrow.com

What Makes a Car Windshield Safe?

The short answer is that automotive windshields are "tempered", and most have a very thin layer of plastic sandwiched between two layers of glass. This article from Popular Science highlights the scientific principles as to why tempered glass is so tough.

Coupons for Autopartstomorrow.com?

We are currently working on a "lowest price possible every time" model. We offered coupon codes in the past, but had to keep our every day price a little higher to accommodate the difference. We sell at such low margins and pay freight, that sometimes even a 5% off coupon will put us in the red. All that being said, please stay tuned and register to receive newsletters from the site. Sometime in mid to late February 2014 we will have our new website rewrite ready to roll out and will offer coupons at that time for a couple of weeks to re-launch the site with a newer, quicker and more accurate catalog, along with a very simplified check out process. Thanks!! Brad

Graphene Batteries in our Future?

The following article states the case of a new method of capturing electricity for use in automotive applications. While they are speaking mainly of supercapacitors capturing the energy from braking, it adds another piece to the puzzle of how our future vehicles will continue to advance. While most articles on the internet have terrible comments sections below, this one actually seems to be adding to the conversation (at the time this is published at least). I can envision a car made from super strong graphene sheets (carbon fiber like only lighter, stronger and cheaper) using new age batteries collecting power from braking, solar paint, and redirected wasted energy from the motor. It won't be 100% efficient, but we seem to be getting closer to vehicles that aren't huge energy wasting vortexes.

Thank You from Autopartstomorrow.com (here is your coupon)

Motorcraft Warranty Now 2 Years
Many of you are aware of our status as an Authorized ACDelco warehouse distributor, but did you know we are also an authorized Ford Motorcraft warehouse distributor? That means we are a main supplier directly to the GM and Ford dealerships in the areas where we have warehouses. The volume buying that this enables us to do creates very low prices, and we pass those savings along to you. One of the main reasons for our partnership with these brands is that they are without a doubt the finest OE brand part companies around. Many companies sell auto parts, some even sell ACDelco and Motorcraft, but no one can offer you the direct savings that you get from Autopartstomorrow.com.
We are proud to pass along the great news from Ford Motorcraft about their new 2 years parts warranty. Most auto parts companies offer 12 months, and some aftermarket part companies off limited lifetime* warranties to cover for the known comebacks they will have (watch out for the fine print). Motorcraft has now come up with a great combination of original equipment auto parts that are extremely dependable along with an extended 2 year warranty. You probably will not need it, but it is good to know that you are now covered for a full 24 months on OE Ford Motorcraft parts.
We Have Mopar
For those of you who drive Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep products, we have GREAT news! Mopar is now being added to our warehouse direct offering. It only made sense that at some point we would begin selling the other line of the BIG 3 U.S. automakers. Chrysler has in the past kept a preety close watch on who could offer their MOPAR line of auto parts. We are now honored to be able to offer their original equipment line along with the GM and Ford auto parts that we have had forever. I suppose it had something to do with our having been around and wowing auto parts dealerships, jobber stores and garages since 1928. We have proven we are not a short term partner. We are teaming up with them to make it easier for you to team up with us!
Black Friday and Cyber Monday Coupon Code
Please visit our Facebook page to retrieve your coupon code.
At Autopartstomorrow.com we don't offer coupon codes very often. The main reason is that our prices are already so low that any additional discount at all could cause us to actually lose money after we pay the freight to send the part to you. We could not however pass up this holiday of Thanksgiving without doing something to say Thank You to our customers. It is good for an additional 5% off on orders over $75 after discount. The code will ONLY be good for Thanksgiving day through midnight on cyber Monday December 2nd. We cannot extend it to orders before or after, and please do not forget to add it as you check out. We appreciate each and every one of you!!! CLICK HERE FOR COUPON
