Having more than two million SKUs from more than 400 manufacturers is portrayed by many in the independent aftermarket as a disaster. Besides declaring parts proliferation a mess, the industry has addressed the number of parts like it is some new phenomenon. Both notions are ridiculous.

Why is the freight on my oil filter more than the part?

As a wholesale auto parts company, our pricing has very little markup included. As a result we need to charge the actual shipping costs up until a certain level, where we can ship and also pay freight. Most people attempt to add additional needed wholesale items until they get to the free freight level (oil filters, air filters, wiper blades, etc.).
