I can remember back when I was in High School and working at the local Chevron Full Service Service station and the Snap-On truck pulled into the parking lot. We had three mechanics that manned the three bays of our shop and all work would come to a stop.
Now they didn't have a model like the one in the picture, but what they did have was tools, really good tools. Not only did they have tools, but the air conditioning kept the back of that truck at about 60 degrees vs. the 118 degrees outside. It was a spectacular marketing plan... Go to where the mechanic is, offer him the tools he needs, give him a lifetime warranty, and make the experience fun and refreshing. Nowadays you would be hard pressed to go into any top-line mechanics area and not see the trademark red tool chests with lined drawers and THOUSANDS of dollars worth of Snap-On tools; they took over the market.
